County Trade Awards

Judging

Independent, evidenced and auditable

Every category publishes its criteria and weightings before entries open, so you know exactly what judges are looking for.

The criteria

Weightings vary by category and are published on each category page.

Workmanship and technical quality

Standard of the work itself, detailing, compliance and finish.

Customer experience

Communication, reliability, transparency on price and aftercare.

Problem solving

How difficulties, site constraints and changes were handled.

Finished result

The outcome delivered against the brief and the customer's expectations.

Project management

Planning, sequencing, timekeeping, safety and site conduct.

Conflicts of interest

Judges cannot see an entry's scoring form until they have made a conflict declaration. Where a conflict exists, the entry is reassigned and the judge has no further access to it.

Human decisions, recorded

Scores produce a recommended ranking, not an automatic winner. A moderation panel confirms every finalist and winner, and each decision is written to an audit log.

Sponsorship is separate

Sponsors fund trophies, photography and the running of the programme. They have no access to scores, no vote and no influence on any result.

Results stay sealed

Winner records are hidden from the public site until the published announcement date for that county and award year.
