About
Recognition built around the work
County Trade Awards gives local trade businesses, tradespeople and completed projects dedicated, credible recognition, one county at a time.
Why it exists
Trades deserve a stage of their own
Mainstream business awards do not always make room for the workmanship, customer care, project delivery and practical problem-solving that define an excellent trade business.
County Trade Awards recognises both businesses and individual completed projects. Entry is free. Winning is free. There is no traditional awards dinner or table to buy; trophies are presented locally at the winner's business or project.
Shropshire Trade Awards and Wrexham Trade Awards are local programmes within the County Trade Awards organisation. Future areas use the same independent standard.
Founder
County Trade Awards is new. The experience behind it isn't.
Founder Chris Jones spent seven years helping lead the Shropshire Business Awards through his role with Shropshire Chamber of Commerce. That brought first-hand experience of what a credible programme needs to deliver for entrants, judges, sponsors, partners and the wider business community.
Chris has since founded, acquired and operated businesses across professional services, software, AI and business systems. That experience informs how the platform is run without turning the awards into a personal brand.
Chris does not decide winners. Sponsors do not decide winners. Commercial relationships do not influence results.
The standard
Real businesses. Real projects. Independently judged.
Published criteria, declared conflicts, evidence-led scoring and recorded human moderation protect the result.
