How it works
Free to enter. Free to win. Judged on the work.
No entry fee, no ticket to buy, no pay-to-play shortlists. Just evidence of good work, judged independently, recognised locally.
Step 01
Entries open, and stay open
Each county award year has published opening and closing dates, but the platform is open all year: you can start a draft entry whenever a job is fresh, save it, and come back before the deadline.
Step 02
Enter as a business, or enter a project
Business categories look at how you operate: workmanship, customer experience, team, reliability. Project categories look at one job in detail, with before, during and after evidence.
Step 03
Customers can nominate you
Anyone can nominate a trade business in under two minutes, with no account. We contact the business, invite them to claim the nomination, and help them turn it into a full entry.
Step 04
Eligibility check
Every entry is checked against the published eligibility rules for that category. If something is missing, we ask for more information rather than rejecting the entry outright.
Step 05
Independent judging
Judges are assigned per category, must declare any conflict of interest before they can score, and score against published weighted criteria. Scores lock when submitted.
Step 06
Finalists and winners
Shortlists are published on the county page. Winners are confirmed by a human moderation panel with a full audit trail, and stay hidden until the announcement date.
Step 07
Your trophy, at your business
There is no black-tie dinner and no table to buy. Your Area Awards Director presents the trophy at your premises or on site, photographed and filmed for local press and your own marketing.
Step 08
Winner assets you can use
Winners and finalists receive digital badges, a certificate, social graphics and a press release template to use across their website, vehicles and social channels.
What it costs
Entering is free. Winning is free. Finalist and winner assets are free. Sponsorship and optional products fund the programme, and are never a route to an award.
